Black Chinese spoons, a white tea spoon, and Japanese alloy chopsticks — the service set we stock for noodle, rice, and tea.
Asian service lives or dies on the spoon and the chopstick. Guests notice a thin plastic pair. They also notice when the spoon does not match the bowl.
We stock two black Chinese spoons: 0014 and 1188. Use them with soup, congee, and shared sauces. The White Tea Spoon is the smaller piece for tea service and desserts.
Japanese Alloy Chopsticks are the metal pair on the list. Alloy holds up better than wood on a commercial dishwasher run.
